Appears to me that over the last couple of days a couple of members who don't like this thread but can't stop viewing it have become unoffical moderators for iRV2.

If this thread gets out of hand I'm sure real moderators or adimistrators will say something wantabes no need to practice here find another thread.

We hit the store for supplies and a close by restaurant for dinner and then hit the sack, usually out of there by 8:00am or so. Well said, Mr_D.
When we travel we stay at WM because we HAVE TO. The 'convenience issue' is a side bar. Since we need supplies also, of course make those purchases at WM.
If we stop at a WM where overnite parking is NOT allowed (certain areas of east Texas) we move on, and make our purchases elsewhere too.

Thank You Walmart for making it possible for us to travel.

Ha, you may be right although I've seen RV's towing full sized Suburbans. We've just got a lowly 4 door Jeep.

I am from NJ and am amazed that a Wal-mart in Cape May let any RV's stay. Were they overnight visits or just waiting to get into the campground?

My TV's a 4-cyl Kia Sportage- the whole shootin match is 28' long, nose to trailer bumper- I wouldn't be surprised if it's shorter than your MH.
Maybe you'll let me park in your shade if we ever overnight together at WALMART.

(See how I stayed ON TOPIC?)

Hey Francesca, does that mean the Wenatchee Wal-Mart is again accepting overnighters? They weren't for awhile there while they were remodeling. We will be heading east soon and may want to take advantage of their hospitality.

It's wannabe's, Jack. A rather demeaning term to describe someone willing to remind us of the rules we each agreed to follow, in the first place. You and I owe them a note of thanks for supporting the rules of our wonderful forum voluntarily, eh?

Two salient exerpts from our Community Rules I too have to bear in mind, nearly daily:
  • This forum is largely self-policing...
  • Do not engage in personal attacks. Challenge others' points of view and opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully. Sarcasm, belligerence, insults...

Pulled into a Walmart on Highway 20 somewhere between the PA line and Dunkirk NY so DW could get some supplies. Had no intention of spending the night and with all the rif raf and questionable young people I did not feel our coach was safe. Loaded up the supplies and got the heck out of there. I prefer Flying Js and race tracks for overnighting.

Quite possibly there are SOME Walmarts in 'not the best areas', maybe older WM's where the area had deteriorated but I have NEVER felt threatened or unsafe in a Walmart parking lot.
Quite possibly also, those folks that 'carry' and are willing & able to 'defend' themselves feel a little less threatened too.

Hi, Phil

Let me put it this way...
I got there just before the store closed and immediately saw that parking is much reduced because of the construction going on.
I cruised the lot looking for signs re. overnighting and saw none. There was one truckcamper parked...
I went ahead and parked- no negative feedback, and one other rig (truck-and-trailer) pulled in and did the same that night.
Parking is definitely limited, though. If this were a 24 hr. store, there might actually be a problem for regular shoppers if too many of us were in the lot.
Also- late sleepers should be warned that the hardhats start work at sunup!
Sheesh.
You'd think my Undisturbed Slumber would be more important to Walmart than its silly construction project...

This is a fun thread with alot of trash talk for and against parking at walmart. If a comment is so out of line than it should be reported to the moderators or administrators.

I do thank you for pointing out my inability to correctly spell a word. I was having trouble with it when I made my post.

With the correct I was able to look it up in the dictionary:
: a person who wants or aspires to be someone or something else or who tries to look or act like someone else

Nothing demeaning in the definition.
