Warranty that covers Hotel etc. for stranded??

Has anyone had issues with chassis or engine repairs while stranded on a trip? As in having the vehicle towed to a repair facility and kept for a few days, does any of the common policies, warranties ever cover accommodations?? as in hotel etc.

Hi tedward1555,
Good Sam ERS provides trip interruption expense reimbursement. It applies only when a collision with another vehicle occurs.

Both the Good Sam and Coach-net emergency roadside assist policies have a trip interruption provision. Oddly, though, they only apply to accidents and not mechanical breakdown. Maybe they feel there wold be too many people abusing the policy by requesting overnight motel accomodations rather than by staying in the RV while it was at the shop.

We broke down outside of Nashville, TN.......took four days/three nights to get the MH parts in and get her up and running. We COULDN'T stay in the rig as it was kept on a Chevy Truck dealer lot inside a locked fence....their entire lot was fenced. Plus, we would have been pretty uncomfortable since they had the rig's gas tank off..........we'd have had no services and no generater. Luckily we had relatives in the area. Could have cost a pretty penny, otherwise. Would be interested in cost of insurance or roadside coverage of some kind that DID cover that kind of thing.

Good thinking - my RV Shield extended warranty covers necessary hotel expenses as well.
