Water Heater cover

Hey Guys,

I’m traveling in Florida right now and our water heater cover fell off at some point on the drive today. A lot of rain in the forecast. Should I cover up the water heater with plastic or will it be safe in the rain? Assuming I will have to get part from dealer? Thanks

It should be fine, Just would advise not using the 110v side if you have one. Everything is waterproof otherwise on the outside of the water heater

The 110v power is on the backside anyway - no worries. You can cover it if you like when using electric mode, but in LP gas mode it needs to be well vented to pr0vide air for the burner and to vent exhaust.

You can buy doors for Atwood and Suburban heaters in many places, even Amazon & Ebay. Just google Atwood (or Suburban) heater door.
