So every one has the white hose and uses them when hooked up.

The question; when you are preparing for a trip while at home do you hook up your white hose to fill you tanks or just grab the garden hose without thinking?

The white hose is the only one that goes in or on mine and it has to be the right one for drinking water. Not all white ones qualify.

I use the white hose exclusively for fresh water. I know folks that fill with a garden hose, and have never had a problem. I drank hundreds of times from garden hoses when I was a kid, and only suffered minimal cognitave imparement as a result. YMMV

I fill with the garden hose but we only use that water for flushing and cooking. We drink bottled water while on a trip.

same as rmmpe. the white hose will not reach the rv from the house. however, i just fixed the hose bib on the other end of the house which may allow the hose to reach the parking spot.

A water hose is fine with me as long as a taste test passes. If the test fails, a retest may pass after a sufficient amount of water has passed through negating the hose taste.

The only time an RV "white hose" is needed, without question, is if the hose will be semi-permanently like is common in an RV Park. That is, of course, because of it's non-leaching qualities.

When I "hook up" at home I use the white potable water hose, but have on occasion filled the tank from the regular garden hose if that was more convenient. We use high quality garden hoses too, so there isn't any vinyl taste and I drink from that garden hose when I'm working in the yard. We were never ones to be fussy about water so we are probably well-supplied with antibodies.

I use the white hose for the fresh water tank too, exclusively, but also have a hose end filter, a 'pur" filter on the kitchen faucet, and a "brita" water pitcher in the fridge....

Yes, I am a clean water freak.

I only use 1 specific hose to fill the fresh tank on my unit. I may use my garden hose... but only after it runs a few mins and its hooked to my water filter.

I use my garden hose to fill the water tank on the coach. I usually let it run for a bit to get fresh water coming through, and also wipe the end that hooks up to the coach. I use the white hose a RV parks. I have a short white hose that I use for the black tank flush that stays in the dump compartment and the water hoses stay in the water compartment. I really should paint that short hose because I have seen the clean police shaking their heads thinking it is my water hose.

I use my white hose to fill the tank or supply city water to the coach. I use the garden hose to water the garden or, on occasion, to wash the motorhome. I too drank from the regular hose as a kid. It apparantly did no serious damage to my health. Currently I'm between my 69th and 70th birthdays. However, I didn't didn't care for the taste of water as a kid and that has not changed over the intervening years.

PVC is approved for drinking water containers. I carry 4 white drinking water hoses, 2 new ones for backup and 2 in use. but I fill the water tank at home with a 75' PVC-lined garden hose. While stored it contains a 50/50 bleach solution. I flush out the bleach before filling the water tank. Any stored hose will grow mold inside, the bleach reduces that to nil. I think not you say, cut open your old white hose before discarding it next time.

As long as it doesn't impart a taste i don't see that it matters although i do use white when hooked up . But it amazes me that they can bottle tap water and sell it what will we fall for next.

As a kid I used to drink well water from a regular cheap green garden hose. I loved the taste of the iron in the water. It didn't hurt me then and I sure didn't need iron supplements

I'll fill my tank with a regular garden hose, with a KDF filter attached at the end, but I use a drinking water approved white hose with the same filter if I'm at a campground that's got full hook ups. We shower cook and drink the tank water, after I have sanitized the fresh water tank and run the sanitizer solution through all of the outlets in the mh. I also use a spray sanitizer on the water hook ups and hose ends before they're attached to the campgrounds water spigot. You never know if the person before you used the fresh water spigot to clean out their sewer hose.
