We can park our RV's Anywhere !

Watching the news today and I see in Denver that you can park any vehicle or RV on any street or public space and call it your residence. This is becoming a really wide spread trend in the US for homeless persons. Although most of us traveling in RV's of one kind or another are not "Homeless" it is now ok to park anywhere. "Homeless" are now very protected and my city they are showing up everywhere and the local authorities do not bother them.

If I park my RV on the street I will be cited, mostly because I have assets. I will be expected to pay penalties because I can afford it and the "homeless" cannot. Where is all of this going? Are the RV's on the street parked there for weeks at a time paying some sort of property tax to help support the local services? I pay taxes for my 'real property" home. I have to have a permit for septic tank, water and power supplies. I have to pay for services like garbage, police and fire. I keep my property clean and tidy and do not encroach on neighbor's spaces.

When I travel in my RV I am mindful of where I can stay and follow the laws. Where is all of this craziness leading us to?

I guess I should just skip saving for my ski condo in the mountains and just park my rv on the western side of Denver and commute to Loveland ski area like the rest of the front rangers. Maybe I can run my sewer hose into any random sewer for dumping? I can just connect to any home for freshwater after homeowner leaves for work and fill that tank. Retirement just got cheaper. Anyone one know which streets have the best view and maybe a neighborhood park for the kids?

I’m only joking.

For sure, tax those with means to support those without and those without the will, fortitude or self respect to do for themselves.

But parking "anywhere" just isn't feasible. The system incumbers this ad nauseum.

If you can afford a nice enough RV to live in full time, there are ways to cut costs. But try parking a $200k RV on the side of main Street and I don't care what "the law" says, you won't be there very long.

There are ways to usurp the system but this is not sustainable.

This is also the case in my town and a number of others in Oregon. There are several places around town to see a coach parked for a couple days by people traveling through. One spot is right near the mouth of the river and a great place to watch the sunset over the river and dunes.

Try togetherdenver.com. I saw it on the news today as well.
Called the Denver Right to Survive Initiative.
Highly political. Not going there.

On May 9, 2019 Denverites will be voting on Initiative 300, an ordinance placed on the ballot by activists for the homeless. It would over turn Denver's "urban camping ban" and allow anyone to live on any public property including streets in a legally parked vehicle, sidewalks and parks.

Don't count the chicks yet. I think this ballot issue will fail.

This is a for sure failure. No way it will pass, not in Denver of any other city in Colorado.

Yeah. No matter which side of the fence you're on, this won't fly.

Going to be interesting to see how this goes.

Assume it passes. Could I go there in my RV and park anywhere I want?
