Mid summer anywhere around the Great Lakes can be hot and humid, May or Sept would be the most comfortable.
Note: I've been in Toronto and the Canadian side of the Falls in mid July, temp was 107f and humidity was 95%, thunder storms every night.

RV parks along the East Coast start shutting down in late Sept, too cold to keep the water flowing. Any area you plan on staying check for RV park web sites for seasonal closures.

Personally I'd suggest May - not yet hot and kids are still in school - not that I have a problem with kids but???

Are you asking for the weather for a 3 month trip along a route from FL to NY? Is it a 3 month round trip or are you taking 3 months just to get to NY? If so the weather can vary largely as that's quite a distance between those states & it can vary largely between May-Aug vs Sept-Nov. Give us a bit more info & maybe we'll be better able to provide input.

There is great need for a sarcasm font.
