I'd go and get my free camping days, the $50.00 and turkey...Then I'd tell them "thank you, and have a nice day"... It's kind of fun watching the saleman trying to figure out what angle to work on you. Grab the "goodies" enjoy the show and walk out.

Thank you everybody for the advice. The weather is cold here now and I don't thiink the free camping would be any fun. As far as the 50.00 and turkey I will pass as it would cost me 20 gallons of gas to go there and back so I would come out behind anyway. I think I will stay as far away from these people as possible.

As long as you are scheduled for an appointment you might as well go and enjoy your stay. You are not obligated to purchase anything and you can always leave if you are not happy with what you hear and see. I do know Ocean Canyon has some very nice resorts.

By reading about OCP it sounds like that my wife and I have conculded the same thing that we were taken by the sales pitch. We have not seen any of the inprovements to the Styx River Resort as promised when we signed up in 2010. Just was thinking of how to go about in addressing this to them but sounds like it will fall on deaf ears, any ideas?

Lynne's advise is very good but BEWARE of their contracts. Be sure you read the fine print. Even better....if you are considering membership make sure you have it read by an attorney.

According to OCP their contracts are lifetime memberships. This is what they told me over and over again. And as I told them...I never signed a contract with OCP so you can't change the rules just because you bought my membership.

HOW EVER, if you sign a contract with OCP it is a binding agreement with them and if they still have a lifetime contract and you sign it then you are bound by the contract. if you are unsure of the verbage please get an attorney to read it before signing.

DO NOT get conned into signing because this offer is only available today. That should be a warning signal right off the bat.

Enjoy the weekend, listen to the pitch and if interested take a copy of the actual contract you will sign. Do not sign a different contract. Ask them to fill it in if there are any blank spaces so you have the actual contract so you can read it over without the pressure.

Let 'em know you are a "smart shopper" and aren't going to be pressured into signing on the dotted line without having time to read the contract's fine print without pressure.
