What Are You Looking At..? Going Down the Road....Rigs..

We seem to always observe other rigs going down the road either passing us or we are passing them or at fuel stop, looking at what kind of rig they drive,
who is driving it,

If on the highway, you can not help but notice what toys are in tow or what stickers are on the coach.

We are Divers, Bikers, Christians, Military, NRA, Good Sam Members, well you could put a lot of stickers on the RV but we do not. The DW won't have it!!
We also look at plates and sometimes you see names/states where folks are from.

I have to admit, we always look and converse what we observe going down the road.

Do you find yourself doing the same thing?

Yes we do, to me it's exciting know someone is going some where fun. DW she counts rv's we see more on fridays than most days it seems. We do look and check it all. Brands, who's driving and every now and then we say I've never heard of that brand.
I also don't think I'd put a step ladder on the back of the 5ver, after observing such. Looks redneckish, but Who knows I still might.

We do the same thing too. I think it is a function of being a bit bored... being interested in what others are driving and towing... and the fact that both RVs are usually traveling fairly slowly so you have some time to observe.

We don't have any stickers on our vehicles either. they just take away from the appearance of the vehicles and are just too darn hard to remove.

Along with taking in the scenery, we usually find ourselves looking at license plates and other RVs. We are always on the lookout for other Beavers.

We usually look at the scenery and listen to recorded books. I really do not like taking my hands off the wheel to return waves. If it is a quiet weather day and I see a wave I return it. Usually by the time the wave registers in my brain the waver is past.

I completely understand this and sometimes the wave is a nod of the head. I too drive with both hands on the wheel as a general practice.

We always notice other rigs and their license plates. Lots of waving when we pass other Bounders!

DW and I started a game for the grandkids, where each has a clipboard with a list of states and a number of boxes that when they see a plate they color a box in and when we end the day or get where we are going the one with the most wins some silly thing, as time has gone by we find ourselves still playing the game and the DW is in charge of marking the boxes.
The kids have long since outgrown the game but have introduced thier kids to the game so the trip is shorter.

When we had a 5ver we always noticed all the different 5ver's.
Now with the Class A we notice them...
I've been seeing a lot of Jeeps lately....

I wave a Lot.. Most of our miles have been interstate so far, so I never see if they return the wave, but thats ok. They might not see mine either. I do always wave when we are being passed by another rv. Only stickers on our rv are a 1ST CAV and American Flag on the back window... Oh, and a small Great Dane decal by the door..

Since we started actively looking for a MH and after buying a MH we see all RV's on the road. We never used to see them, but now do.

We do like to view scenery as we travel. It is nice to be able to stop if the fancy strikes us to see more. Previously as we were on one of our frantic vacations we did not have the time to do this.

South Dakotan's we call it giving the finger. Index finger that is.....
and if you don't give it back your not a native....

As a biker, lots of bikers waive unless of course we are in hills during rally week.

Buddy of mine has a jeep and told me "jeep" owners always do a waive.

For a game, when we had the kids we did the alphabet game. Everyone has to start with A and first one to reach Z wins. Now our grand kids do it.

But we still look at plates, tire cover prints, stickers, RV makes, toys & equipment, pets. Our mini doxi thinks he has to sleep behind our neck. He is only 7 lbs so like having a warm neck pillow.

We wave also and get alot of waves back. Usually count Gassers/DP/5ers. Years ago when we were passed or passing a class A we would wonder what it was like to be touring in "one of those". We wonder no more. DW and I are both talkers and enjoy the rest stops when there are a number of RVs pulled up together with the different licence plates. Usually get into those where from, where to, miles/day conversations. Just enjoying the lifestyle.
