How about Pearl Harbor sales on Dec 7th? Just because others have turned to making a buck on such holidays as Memorial Day, and even open on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, does not make it right. The 4th of July is a day of celebration, it is so much different than a day we were attacked. Hey, how about D-Day sales!
9/11 is still fresh in our minds and is a day of remembering those that lost their lives and the cowardliness that cost our country dearly. I also know it is celebrated in some other countries - and I don't want to join that party.

They could have just had a weekend sale like the always do, and just called it an end of summer sale or a hot weekend sale on any such name, but they chose a theme that tied it into a day of disaster.
I saw many sales today and for the weekend, but I did not see one of them showing the flag flying at full staff - but I may have not looked hard enough as there is enough greed out there as the following attests to.
Here is an article from two year ago on the subject

The mods will probably call this politics, arguing or both and kill it, warn us or just delete it. So I will just unsubscribe to this thread and not bother with it, or the sales either.
