What do you expect for $50.00 a night

I have been on the road since September and have stayed at some poor camp grounds that call themselves "Resorts" paying $40.00 up for the stay, had one charge $50. and elect. and cable were extra.
What do you expect for $50. ??
Could be I'm looking for to much for my money.
Right now we are at a resort that claims "Beach Access" only problem it's 1 1/2 miles away and no car access. The club House is shoddy at best and the sites are not much better, we have 25 psi on the city water and intermitent wi-fi, mostly 2 bars.
No pool, a small playground between two busy streets and very muddy.
Yes I know I could move but thats not the issue ! I reserved this park based on the pictures supplied on the internet and the description posted, found out the reservations could not be cancelled because we made them 4 months ago.
What do you find on your trips ??

We use rvparkreviews as well as threads here and are not surprised when we get where we're going. There is a lot if information out there today and one must learn how to filter it to their best advantage. I'm sorry for you but I hope you post and report this place anywhere you can so others will know.

We have traveled cross country several times and very rarely have we spent over $25-$30. And quite a few times it's been only $20 a night.
I can think of only 2 places that we paid $50+.
1 - Circus Circus in Las Vegas during New Years Eve.
2 - Sun N Fun in Sarasota, FL. It's a resort with lots of options and well taken care of and it was during snowbird season.
We expect a lot if you want us to pay $50+.

I never make reservations UNLESS it happens to be a very popular location high traffic area with lots of tourists and many things to do.

If I plan to stop for more than one night then I will see whats available in the area, stop at a RV Park, look around, and if it isn't what we expect, we go on down the road.

If only resting for the night we never stay at RV Parks and pay money. It's always free places and dry camp for the night.

Been doing that for over 33,000 miles and three years on the road. Never any problems.

This is my benchmark. It is a Pinellas County Fl. park. It is clean and very well managed. It is semi pet friendly (specific camp sites). Waterfront sites (not Gulf but Bay), the entire park outside of the campgrounds has beaches (on the Bay and Gulf), bike trails, canoeing, fishing, etc. The price for waterfront (elec/water/showers/laundry/dump) is $42 including all taxes. It is a reasonable drive to Tampa or St. Petersburg (15-20 minutes).

Like others I use rvparkreviews, etc. and Good Sam ratings. But I also use google maps to zoom in on the parks to actually see the location, size, location ... What they say and show on their websites can often be very different from what you get when you get there.

When on the road I never make reservations unless we will be there on holidays. When we get close to the end of the driving day, I will look for campgrounds where we think we will end the day on RVparkreviews and/or Allstays app on my phone. Then I use Bing maps to look at the park. I don't trust park's website pictures. If it looks good and is priced right, we stay there. I have found a low priced parks that are terrific. For $50, I expect a nice park but I have also found that cost depends a lot on the area of the country we are traveling in.

Considering what 7 Feathers on I-5 at Canyonville Oregon offers for $40.
I know that it's a native land set up and they don't have the property taxes to contend with. But it fits my idea of $40, per night value.
Rated a 10.
Night rate at my usual winter park is $55. knowing the park , if the off season monthly wasn't such a good deal $345 +power. I wouldn't stay there.

I guess it depends on where you are. Here in the northwest, as you know, $50 ought to have everything including escort to site, daily garbage pickup and preferred sites with views or whatever they feature as their reason for being there.

One thing I've learned, put the name of the campground into your browser. Usually you will come up with several urls related to the campground, one or more is likely to have unbiased reviews.

Art and I never reserve. This past week we were on the Oregon coast, we drove in and looked at a couple of places and drove out again. We quit early in the day and find there is always room.

At $40-$50 I expect something special for the kids and/or dog: waterslides (Jellystone like) or similar.
I'd pay that much if it was a high value real-estate area and had good water access...

There are locations where you would be lucky to get a low price of $50 per night, in peak season with big crowds.
Wisc Dells is one.
We just dont need the crowded glitzy places.

There are many sources for finding good CGs. You just need to hunt them out. As I have a big rig not all parks can accomodate me. I bought a book 2 yrs ago where the authors had previously visited the Campgrounds.They are right on with the ones chosen. While there are a lot of gaps (I guess they can't get to them all) it is a good tool.
