For the comment that “My dog has peed in more states than you have been in ----“, My comment is “I have peed in more states and towns ----“, (bad prostrate!).

If I don’t like my neighbors I can move real quick or, if I want to meet my neighbors all I have to do--- Open the hood or crawl underneath kick my feet a couple of times, within minutes there will be a few guys- Having trouble?, I had one just like this one, I am a retired mechanic and have a complete tool box with me, ect!

My 55 yr old son Dave and Cathy have the travel gene “BIG TIME”. They left NH/ME last June for a 1 year long bicycle trip (carrying their clothing, food and tents with them) around the US, camping along the way. They now are in SO CA and have traveled about 6,600 miles. Check out their blog-

http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/?o=1&doc_id=12426&v=3P

That will open up on their forum “No short two month trip for us”, after checking that click on “guestbook” to see the comments from other bikers/friends that are following their blog.

May you have fair winds and following seas!

What do you say to those who don't understand the RV lifestyle?
I think this also refers to week long and weekend RVers. I just see our RV trailer as our "condo on wheels". Some people choose to have a vacation condo, home or cabin in their favorite location. But if you want a "lake front" location with frontage, plan to spend $250 - 500k+, then you have taxes, association fees, maintenance and upkeep, utilities, upgrading, neighbors.

I can have that lakefront lot with a view for $25 a night. If I don't like it I can move. And the best part...I can try different places....in many states.

I don't feel the need to explain. I myself don't understand why someone would want to golf multiple times a week, skydive or own a boat...but I wouldn't ask them why!

The few times I have been asked that question was by people who owned a vehicle that was close to the value of my RV. Most times I saw the light go on.

Its like trying to tell a non hunter about the sounds of a forest as it comes to life just before dawn or the quiet beauty of the sunrise.
Or like telling someone with no children about the heavenly smell of your newborn baby.

I have only had one person to whom I had to explain..

She ask why I'd take an RV when I could just stay in a hotel.

So I compared them

Issue (Rv) Hotel

What is under bed? (What I put there) SURPRISE!

Campfire (Allowed) Discouraged

Cooking (Allowed) Discouraged

And that is just 3 issues that I can think of quickly.

Not to change the subject but personally, I have never been able to understand why someone would jump out of a perfectly good plane and put your life in danger. Unless there was something wrong with the plane.
Or chase a little ball all over a grassy area just in the name of health.
