I fully expect to get harrassed on this one............. But what does 'DW" stand for. I have seen it in many threads and the reference seems to be for a wife. Ok, I am ready to get blasted now!

Hmmm... well depending on your mood, it could be "Dear" wife. Or other "D" words as they come to mind.

"Demanding"? I'm just guessing here... "Dependable" "Delightful"
In the military, DW used to be "Dependent Wife" until it became politically incorrect, as so many descriptive terms do, then it became "Family Member."

Back then I found that term distasteful but I usually had bigger things to be concerned about.
After over 48 years married I'm still not sure who depends on who more but now that you reminded me I still find the term distasteful even though I know no disrespect was meant by it.

Now don't be coy. (This will initiate a discussion of "DH.")

The "W" stands for Wife. The "D" is your call. Some will say it stand for Dear Wife, some Da Wife, others will not be so nice...

I've been here on iRV2 since 2000 and don't recall ever seeing the DH, DW, DS and DD abbreviations used until a Yahoo Pop-Up group moved over here for awhile a number of years ago. AFAIK, they brought the terminology to iRV2.
