Some snowbird fulltimers travel only twice a year. Some fulltimers move whenever they feel the urge.

RV marketing material, books, and the RVIA would have the general public believing that the nomadic gypsy life is the predominant form of fulltiming. However, RVPark owners know otherwise.

The vast majority of the millions of RVs ever built used for fulltiming residence eventually pick a favorite spot as "home" and then venture out from there for occasional getaway trips, but then return back.

The nomadic gypsy fulltimer does regularly occur, (usually, bright eyed newbies for up to a few years or even a decade), but they are actually the minority. There would be daily caravans of RVs on every single Highway and Freeway across the country, like ants, if all fulltimers were living the nomadic gypsy life. That is not the case. You do see lots of RV traffic seasonally, (snowbirds), and during holiday weekends.

It would be interesting to have some stats on that, but I don't really care too much. Some just lose the spirit of adventure, and that's just fine.
Travel has always been the relevant factor for us, and the Journey has always been our Destination.
We have been adventuring for 47 years together, and figger to rent a condo when our bods say we should.

X2 - Dave - rvd for over 20 years as weekenders - vacationers. Planned to go full time at retirement and did.
Annie and I wouldn't live in a motor home if we did not travel. We don't know how long we will do it - and hope to find a place to retire from the road one day. Whether we downsize and become weekenders or short timers or snow birds at that time is unknown but doubtful. We have so much we want to see and hopping 200 - 300 miles on travel days - staying 2 days - a week or whatever is just too much fun. Sitting is OK - but once you know the names of the store clerks, it's time to go.

What does "Full Timing" mean to you?

Sorry but it only makes all the sense in the world. Sorry to hear of your terrible plight.
All of us "RV to different drummers", but I'm betting you are having WAY too much fun... like us!
We like a cruise per year, but RVing has gotten in the way for a bit.
