Unhappy What Is A Galley Tank

When I was looking at the various installation instructions for my See Level units they kept mentioning Galley Tanks; what are there?

TIA
Dennis

Galley Tank

The galley tank is your fresh water tank for the kitchen and bath.

Are you sure about that? I thought that galley tank was another name for the gray water tank.

I think the definition varies by manufacturer.. I've seen some 5th wheels that have a grey water tank for the kitchen sink only that's refered to as a "Galley tank". I've also seen motorhomes that refer to the "Galley tank" as the grey water tank for both the kitchen sink and the shower.

In all cases however they were referrring to a grey water tank as opposed to a fresh water tank.

On my 2006 forrester I have the normal gray tank which my kitchen and bathroom sink empty into. Then I have a "galley" tank that my shower empties into. My galley valve is on the passenger side of the Moho behind my tailpipe whereas my gray and black valves are in my wet bay in the normal spot

We had a Coachmen travel trailer that had 3 tanks. Grey - Shower and bathroom sink, Black - Toliet, and Galley - Kitchen sink.

I don't see why the need for *2* grey water tanks, unless it's due to space restraints - emptying the usual grey water and black water tanks seem enough - why 3 tanks?

I believe its because you can use so much water in the kitchen. Plus the plumbing can be easier in a rear kitchen set up with an extra tank

Our previous 5-r had 2 grey tanks, one of which was labelled galley because it was fed by only the kitchen sink. The other tank was fed by the bath.

Depending on space and weight distribution they some times put in different tanks to balance out and/or get more volume or easier plumbing

And I brain fart all the time too so don't feel bad macantic
