What is it with external lights?

Okay just back from a great 3 week trip to Cascade ID and Grand Tetons NP and I got a burr in my saddle. What is it with some people and their external lights? Late in the evening when most people are asleep I notice some people have their external lights on. They aren't outside and all lights inside are off. They leave them on all night. Especially the nice bright ones like LED strips.

Now I could understand if camping in some ghetto campground and you feel the need the feel more secure. But out in a $60 plus per night National Park campground why feel the need to blast your neighbors with light?

Thoughts or insight?

Perhaps you should be complaining to the LED light inventors and not the choir.

Some use them to keep critters away like Pack Rats. PRs eat engine wiring. Pack Rats are a problem here in the SW. I use strobe lights for the same purpose and have not had an issue.

Sorry about that.

If your window shades are closed, can you still see the light? when mine are closed I can't hardly tell if its noon or midnight.

Yeah there was.

I think with the wimpification of America there are a lot of people who are afraid of the dark. Especially if their mommy is not around to keep the monsters away. JMHO

A reason why they leave the lights on or why other people are bothered by them?

Seems there are a lot of people that don't know how their shades or eyelids work.

What about the campers that enjoy outside in the dark? One of my favorite camping activities is to sit out with a cup of coffee and watch the world turn from black to green.

Have you considered introducing yourself to your neighbor, explaining that and asking if they could dim their lights?

I was camping a few weeks ago and our neighbors were enjoying themselves and their music while they played games, their music was a little loud so I went over and asked if they could turn it down.

They apologized and turned it down.

That was easy.

If my neighbors were outside and have their lights on, I could care less. Everybody enjoys their camping experience differently. I'm refering to campers who are inside or worse inside asleep yet for some reason feel the need to light up the campground.

I am currious as to what reason there is.

My wife has her's on a timer, they turn on with a photocell and turn off after 2 hours which is about how long we sit outside after dark.
Others well...... this is 2018 and everybody is usually too consumed with whatever makes them feel warm and fuzzy and could care less what others think.
