Lol! That was in response to #296 about blasting hip hop music if people had lights. Guess I should have used the "Quote" option....

I know. Isn't it great? No one wants to quit when they're having a good time.

I remember watching the first moon landing with my family in a campground in PA. NOBODY had rope lights back then. I think it depends on the campground and the camper. Personally, I hate them, but I understand

Probably because they hadn't been invented yet.

Even if this one ends, another one the same will start up next week. Might as well just keep this one going. Might as well add a perpetual dark barking, campfire smoke, idling diesel, and dog poo thread to go with it. I probably missed a couple. They are entertaining if nothing else.

I hope the mods allow this thread to continue. Love the chuckles.

There seems to be 2 types of people here: those who camp as a form of enjoyment and relish in the "get away from it all" aspect of existence. For these people, it's a celebration, a time to lay down the uniform of every day life and pop a cork and enjoy. Kinda like Christmas hence the lights.

The other type seem to be the bah humbug type. The "do as I say" type. Those who think the personal rules they've adopted for themselves should apply to all. If not the world falls apart.

If you look at camping as fun then lights all around! Enjoy.

If you look at camping an extension of your S&B then close your shades and let life pass you by.

You got out the house for a reason. Might as well enjoy yourself. Real life is just around the corner, waiting.

I guess I'm a "getaway from it all" type person.
I'll go along with most anything as long as you agree to shut your barking dog up, extinguish your stinking campfire, shut that noisy diesel off and keep your dog poo on your own site.
"Let there be light".

I say "get away from it all" to mean the opposite.

For me camping is getting away from modern life and especially other people. I can party all I want at the house with or without others. Bars are full of noise and lights and celebrations. Yes, I prefer NFS and boondocking sites.

Give me peace, plants, stars and wild animals!

I've decided if this post hits 25 pages, I'm going to go out and buy enough lights for my RV to make the house on Chevy Chase Christmas Vacation look like a nightlight.

Every Christmas (if we have an RV) we do a rolling Christmas Party. We string lights inside and outside and pick up 6 or 8 friends. Drive around to see the lights and decorations of the town and end up on the beach to build a fire. Some weenies, smores and beer. Good tunes now that we found Bluetooth and sound bar. Drop everyone off in the reverse order we picked them up, fun fun fun.

Unfortunately I am the designated driver.
