What is the best $500+ item you bought for you RV?
For me it has been my $575 "Port-a-deck" stairs I bought for my FW that has proven to be the best VFM (value-for-money). I placed the order when I first purchased my FW. I then had second thoughts once I started draining my savings buying all the other stuff one needs for a long RV trip, things I hadn't considered. But 4 weeks later the Port-a-deck arrived and it's been the most useful item that my wife thanks me for purchasing. Setup and tear-down takes less than 5 min.
I'm not try to "plug" for them at all. Just saying, it make the CG experience a lot more homely than typical RV stairs. I seem to get comments and stares from everyone at the CGs as well.
I'm curious what other items fellow RVers feel is a good VFM in the above-$500 range. Things they really feel is worth the extra money to upgrade their RV when not living an "open-checkbook" lifestyle.
Other $500 + items I bought recently:
- 4K TV (the pic quality when viewing BlueRay is AMAZING)
- Portable dish receiver ($449, but close enough)
- 3K Dometic gen ($750, it works but it's obvious it was built in China; the worst build quality! I hope someone steals it. Ha!). I use this gen from the back of my F350 tow vehicle and so that I don't have to struggle with setup when boondocking or drycamping. I ran an extra 30amp power-cord underneath the coach so setup take a minute now. Gen is double cable locked to the bed of the truck and covered so as not to be obvious to the public. Just pull the cover off and start up. I use my Honda EU2000i if we stay longer than one day in a boondock or drycamp setup. I store than in the forward bay in the interim.

No longer full timing, but still camping 10 days at a time every other month.

Without a doubt, the best 500+ item I've purchased for my mh is the Winegard Trav'ler Dish antenna. A push of a button and within a couple of minutes i have perfect HD tv.
When I had my TT, my #1 item for it was the Hensley Arrow WDH. Made pulling that trailer a breeze!

I already had the new TVs and satellite, so the best $500 I spent was on two instruments that are valuable to me: a TPMS, and a ScanGage.
Nice to know that what's important is operating as it should. Peace of mind!

Handling improvements - CHG and rear track bar. Now drives right and safely.
Shame on Ford for the many years they knowingly produced a product with such poor handling.

I would have to agree with that statement. I installed the Edge graphical interface display and interlaced that with the custom tuner that was specifically programmed to my truck's VIN. I can really manage my engine's output way more efficiently thereby increasing durability and longevity. I rarely get over 1200 on the EGTs and have never exceeded 1300... mostly done at 3/4 throttle or less. All while pulling 14,000 lbs behind me thorough the mountains and hills.
Two things that will cook a diesel engine: high heat and high revs.

MagnaShade for the windshield. Wow, did that ever reduce the heat up front...was also the 'hardest to pay for' item I ever bought...they sure are proud of those things!

The best item purchased for our RV that cost over $500 is the residential refrigerator.

What is the best $500+ item you bought for you RV?
For us, it is three things for our 5th wheel-Winegard rooftop satellite, Onan 5500 built in propane generator, and a Magnun PSW 2012 inverter. The generator and inverter opened up a different world of camping for us. We used them extensively on our trip to Alaska this past summer.
