looks like it used to be your hold open device. See the corresponding receiver beside it. I was a small stick like device with a T on top that goes into the receiver. Its to hold open your door so the wind doesnt play havoc with it. Looks like someone tried to patch it up or something. It was probably attached and someone yanked on the door not knowing it was there.

I would agree that's its a way of holding open the door that's broke.

Agree door holder

When I bought my Mh, the dealer had an identical model to my Landau that he was taking to the RV Show that weekend. It had a similar door holder. At the show someone yanked the door closed despite the holder and actually ripped about a 2 sq. foot patch of the fiberglass skin off the outside of door. Never did put one on my door.

i am sorry did not make it clear, the item in the pic at a distance is on the left, little wire with a spring on it. my door holder that is off white is fine. there is some sylicone around the little wire. would there be a door bell on there. there is only one wire.

For a door hold open device, it is on the wrong side of the door.. Otherwise, not a clue.

It's a 12vdc light. Or at least it used to be. The wire is the positive and it's grounded to the body with a self tapper.

Turn on the clearance lights and test with a meter could be a side turn signal warning light also

It looks to me like your assist handle on the side of the door may be missing, it may be the power wire for the light that was in the handle.

My vote is for a step light. It looks like an old hooded light that shone down on the step.
