This is just a guess, but perhaps a freeze switch to turn on a tank or basement heater

That's the type snap disc that the wet bay heater in our coach uses!

Do those wires go into the heater?

Thanks for the responses.
Disc, got it.
I need to take it out and see if it has a part number on it.
Easy to reach = no.

Those are normally used as a safety thermostat. I doubt if there are any part numbers on the disc side. Should be numbers on the terminal side.

Look for something like Fxxx-xx.
That would be the temp range.

Thanks. It should be the snap disc/thermostat to turn on the bay heater when it gets cold.

MSHappyCampers: I assume so. I will check tomorrow.

On the Monaco products, that snap disc was used to turn on the 12 volt bay heater. The snap disc rarely failed, but the 12 volt heaters did all the time. Rather than pull the snap disc, put 12 volts to the bay heater and see if it turns on.

I use to know the numbers...if I recall, the snap disc turns on the heater at 28 degrees and off at 40 or so.

Lastly, you should have a lighted switch on the wall inside your coach at one of the control panels for the bay heater. When you turn this switch on, the lighted part doesn't illuminate until the snap disc powers up the heater. So, it's not broken, just wont light up until the heater is on. A way to test, is place an ice pack against the snap disc.

Thanks for all the responses.

I took the snap disc out, ohm check = open, put the disc in the freezer for an hour, ohm check = open. DOH!
Turned on the heater switch, it illuminated but the light next to it for heater active did not illuminate.
Jumped the snap disc wires, the heater blower started and after a few seconds, I could see the heater element turn red/orange and warm air was blowing out. WOOHOO Checked the light next to the switch and it was illuminated.

Searched the web using the numbers on the snap disc and found a snap disc on EBay.

There are numerous snap disc that would work, just need to verify open/close operation, temperature setpoint, and maybe size for mounting.

Mark....Even though it's really not Monaco anymore, but Fleetwood, Monaco parts is still open and may have the exact part you need at a reasonable price. Often, if they don't sell it anymore, they will tell you where to get it.

I went to the Monaco Forum and searched Snap Disc. This should be the one you want. Closed at 35 degrees and open at 45 degrees.
