What is your fuel mileage Ford V10

This is our 3rd motorhome since our camping life has started. It seems that every time we get a new Motorhome our fuel mileage goes down. Our 1st was a 1996 31 ft Class C with a 454 we got like 7.5 MPG.
Our 2nd was a 2004 37 ft class A with a Ford V10 we got 6.5-7.0 MPG. Our latest Motorhome 2009 36 ft class A with the newer Ford V10 gets like 5.0-5.5 MPG. Now that gas mileage on all is with our GMC Acadia in tow. The fuel mileage is not going to keep me from using it but I would like to get just a little more out of it. and God bless

We get 7.5 - 8.5 , no toad........ all depends on the speed we go.... I have gone from 65 MPH down to 55 - 60 and it saves in the long run

We have a 2011 Coachman Concord with the V10. We are not pulling anything and I keep my speed at about 60 to 62 MPH. We are averaging between 12.5 and 13 mpg.

Our first tank gave us 13.7 mpg, but it now seems to average out just a little lower. But I will take it.

I just checked ours after a 200 mile run. We got 7.58 traveling at 62 towing and gen on for 3 1/2 hours. The big thing I recently confirmed with Ford is that the tow/ haul will take 1-2 miles per gallon off your average. In Oct. I got 6.25 using the tow/ haul and going 70 mph. I now will only use the tow / haul for going down steep grades or stop and go city driving and will keep my speed down. Hope this helps.

Is your odometer set for kilometers? I've had two Ford v10's over the last 9 years and have never heard of this kind of mileage in all the previous threads on this subject.

On a 2008 Damon Challenger 371 V10 towing a Toyota Corolla in all types of weather, terrain, and road conditions, also including some generator useage figured in here are the figures:

Miles 9140 Gallons 1375.3 MPG 6.65

Nope not set to kilometers. I set the cruise control and go. When not on cruise, stop and go in town driving, no jackrabbit starts.

When I first checked my mpg, I couldn't believe it either, so I did the math two more times and then had the DW do it, same result each time. We just back from a trip with my brother in law and sister and had him do the math each time we stopped to fill up. Same results, he would just shake his head and walk back to his truck.

He has a Ford diesel, pulling 5th wheel, with a boat behind the TT. He is getting about 8.5 to 9 MPG.

I can't explain it either, but thats what it is.

I was sort of kidding. Aftef googleing a coachman concord, I see that it is a class c. Don't know how many feet yours is but it is not a fair comparison to the op who has a 36' class a. So I guess that explains your mileage. I'm jealous. I know the thread is on ford v 10, so your input is all good.

I guess I should have said it was a class C. I just looked at the post and it said Ford V10, so I responded. It is 30' 10'', they call it 31'.

Hey, no offense taken. I just hope the mileage holds up with the price of gas. I was also told by other folks with this same unit, they get about the same, but after a few more miles, it should get better. I hope they are right.
