What kind of gun do you carry while traveling?

Living in AZ I'm used to always having a gun within reach and not needing a permit to concealed carry. Not to mention no restrictions on spring loaded knives.

So when traveling I feel a little ahhhhh, naked I guess. I would love to find something that's 50 State friendly but I'm not even sure a pellet gun would fit that.

I'm just curious what you all carry, my thoughts are that a break barrel shotgun would be the safest bet legally.

I gave up my handgun and permit 15 years ago and leave my rifles home. Will sell them when I get around to it.

Never carried for protection.

I had to think about this for a few, I couldn't decide if I'd be sad to be you or thankful. I guess it's a different travel style. If I'd never been in a situation where I didn't have some concern for my safety be it mountain lions, bear, wolves or otherwise I'd feel like I was missing out. I've had close calls with all of those at some time or another and have been thankful to live in a State that so freely allows me to protect myself from things that have me outmatched.

Anyway, I can't imagine the peace that would come from never needing to protect yourself but it sounds like either bliss or a death of its own ( :

Depends where I am going. Normally it's a sig p320 in 9mm, if its bear and or some other woodland creature i'm concerned with then i grab my Glock in 10mm. It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

I think it's foolish to post that information on a public forum. Not to say I don't believe in the principle but posting it would be problematic.

I have friends that take their handguns normally stashed in the house....to the rv when they go on the road. They don't take them out of the rv when dining out or sightseeing. They keep them handy for nighttime intruders.

Canik 100 in 9mm or Kimber Custom in 45. Bring others along in winter as Casa Grande has a great city owned range. Takes my Minn permit and Florida permit to get me through the Southern states.

Op, you can get an AZ permit. You will have to check reciprocity to see if you need another to go where you are going.

If you are legal and you always carry it shouldn't be a problem.

Never felt a need and we boondocked in the boonies 95% of the time and hiked trails in critter country, including Alaska.
