What RV to upgrade to

We currently have a 2008 Forest River Charleston which we like very much, however, within the year may consider going more full time and concerned about quality and durability of the Charleston for next several years. I have considered Entegra, Tuscany and other RV's for more full time living. Does anyone have any opinions or suggestions considering our situation? I am new to this forum so thanking you in advance!

Welcome to IRV2
You have plenty of time to research manufactures, floor plans, and costs.
There are numerous RV's to choose from and plenty of negotiating room so don't be affraid to negotiate.
The manufacturers track record will speak for itself when it comes to reliability and warranty. Entegra is made by one of the industries long time builders, Jayco. Tiffin has been around and makes a terrific line of coaches. Winnebago , Fleetwood have as well.
This web site will be a spring board for more information than you can fathom.
Good luck in your search

I also agree with the tag axle theory. Your CCC is greatly increased along with handling characteristics. Find the floor plan you like, be sure to practice due diligence if buying used. There are many posts that can be accessed on this subject. Check out the google search engine at the top right of Irv2 home page. Good luck.

Hi crazy69,
Welcome to iRV2. The three main things that will keep you "in love" with your coach are:
1. floor plan
2. will the coach carry all your stuff and your family (CCC or NCC)
3. will the coach tow the vehicle you want to tow (GCWR-GVWR and hitch rating)
After the above mentioned items are met, one can make the decision as easy or as difficult as one desires. I am partial to Newmar coaches. Go to http://www.newmarcorp.com/motor-coaches and check them out.

You might want to look at this site. I used it (cost is $150) and found it very useful and worth every penny.

So many folks gravitate to the floor plan without looking at what is under that floor plan. Look closely at construction techniques and chassis as well as the track record of the units you are looking at. Beware of RV Bling which is the proverbial lipstick on a pig to use a phrase from a few years ago.
