I have a 50amp 5th wheel do I need both 30 and 50amp surge guards?
can I use the 50amp on the 30amp shore power,will that work
I'm looking at the ones from camping world

Yes, you can use the 50amp on 30amp power, just put the adapter between the surge protector and the pedestal.

Buy the 50 and an adapter you will be fine.

All you need is a 50 amp as it will also work on a 30 amp circuit. Get a unit from Progressive Industries, they are the best on the market also excellent after sales support.

Progressive Industries PT-50C, 50 amp. The PT-50C is portable and you can take it with you if you trade. (Well, I guess you could take the permanently instaled EMC-50C, but to much work for me.)

thanks for quick reply the PT- 50C,50amp over $400 bucks
I looked at the ssp- 50amp looks like it would work,only $129
the pdf manuel said it checks the shore power before you hook up,
looks like it has good protection, what do you guys think

The ssp-50 is half the Joule rating of the PT-50C.

Be SURE you check your SG and that it is okay to use it on 30 amps. In my 5th wheel, it was okay to use the 50 amps on 30 amps, but only for a limited time, not extended periods.
