My latter responce was a bit tongue-in-cheek. But we are like you, enjoy what we can as log as we can. Don't let the little things bother you.

Never had a problem but have never pushed myself on anybody (I hope). I do love learning about other people and their travels - guess I will stick to reading about it on here. It's time to go back in, pull the shades and lock the door. Wouldn't want to offend.
Never be afraid! I talk to everyone I see. I have 3 Pomeranians and we walk them several times a day and most people want to talk to them, conversation magnets they are.

I learn a lot from talking to others. I have spent my life in the hospitality business, I like to talk to other people. I never stay at someone else's camp site though.

This brings up another question...

How do you deal with yapping dogs in the site next to you?

1. Toss them some peanut butter and crackers?
2. Toss them a hotdog with Ambian stuffed in the center?
3. Go get a bigger, louder dog?

This happened to us last month in Gatlinburg.

Thank you.

My Experience

My favorite escape from the over friendly, over interested is to fein illness and suddenly have to use the bathroom I promptly depart for the bathroom and wait a bit; sure enough they leave to chat someone else up or gather intelligence form some other poor victim.

Having to hide out when I just want to sit under my awning sip an ice tea and read a book or use my laptop would a sign like "Do Not Disturb" be too rude?

That's what I go on vacation for in my m/h is just to relax. Have little time with my family so I want to spend as much time with them as possible without feeling I need to hide.

What's wrong with you people? I thought rvers were the friendliest people on earth.
I don't mind if someone stops by my campsite and visits. If you don't want to be bothered, why don't you just stay home.

I thought so too, but have doubts after being here awhile..

I took a friend to Oshkosh Fly-in once and he was AMAZED at how friendly, and clean, every one was.. Not a bit of trash on the ground or cop in site.. Flyers really are the best.

Invite them over for dinner. When done, put the plates on the floor for the dogs to lick clean. Then, put them immediately back on the shelf.
