What about the simple act of lifting a cheek and passing wind to get rid of unwanted guests?

Sometimes it is better to keep Ones Mouth shut and appear Stupid than to open it and remove all doubt!

I usually am able to size people up , so have been able to send them the right message early enough to avoid any conflict or overly affectionate conversation.

There was this rather attractive Girl once though..............Perish the Thought!

I think it's more difficult for kinder people to deal with, because they don't want to cause bad feelings. However if you continue to let them annoy you...YOU are the one feeling bad.
My wife is a very sweet person and will talk to anyone but does the same thing when shes tired. She excuses herself and politely walks inside. Im left sitting, guess i dont really mind, did do one thing awhile back the breeze was nice in the pines, smelled good the air was cool outside just drove 600 miles and set upin CG, was relaxing neighbors come over talked and talked wife excused herself when it got dark went inside i was so relaxed zoned out and fell asleep on a couple, they talked my ear off fell right to sleep dont know where they went but woke up and went inside. It is what it is i guess

I got a little ticked the other morning when a lady walked into our campsite so her fur butt could say hello to ours while we were eating breakfast at the picnic table. She was pleasant but I thought that was a little rude although I let it pass, not worth getting my knickers in a twist. If she had come to the table I might not have been so polite.

Your a good man. I'm afraid her intrusion at that time of the morning with that activity happening would have pushed me over the edge.
How rude!

Since camping season is upon us, I thought we might need to review the valuable info in this thread.

Glad you revived this thread - there are some really funny responses. The wife and i are both %100 Introverted and while we are always friendly we get drained very quickly in conversations with others. When we camp, we are there to get away and do things outdoors. Even so, I usually get three or four people asking about the 'bus' on any given trip, but the conversations never last more than about 5 minutes - I can't do much more than that and apparently it's fairly obvious

When "over-friendly" neighbors come to visit, I just try to remember the loud-mouthed, drunks from a few months ago.

One of the things that I love about RV'ing is the people. I love to meet new people. I love to share stories and experiences. Drop by any time, share your beer, your stories and your experiences.

Looks to me like there are more than a few 'stirrers of the pot' on here.

After reviewing this thread, I personally think that way too much effort is being put forth in trying to keep away those pesky overly friendlies among us. No need in getting a louder, bigger dog, resorting to stinky rotting cabbage or out and out being rude. All that is needed is placing a hand under one's armpit and start scratching wildly while..."Sorry, ever since we stayed in that sleazy motel, these bug bugs have been killing us". (now, reaching out with a friendly gesture) You say: "You'll have to excuse me, I need some more ointment". It's an easy walk away, nobody gets offended and you'll probable not have any more overly 'friendlies' bother you for the rest of your stay.

I hope everyone realizes that this thread was intended to be light-hearted and fun...and it delivers. I got so many laughs from reading this!!
