We're doing Quartzite in January and Burning man festival over Labor Day.
We'll have our usual smatterings of Rincon beach in Ventura county and Campland on the bay in San Diego as well.

Is that worth the stop? One of the greatest sights in the world! If it's not worth a trip, I just don't know what is.

Is it a day stop or longer? That depends on your interest. We stayed a week, and we will return. Somebody else might take a look and say, "Okay, now I've seen it. What's next?"

There is a campground right in the Grand Canyon National Park and several in the nearby town. Like a lot of national parks, all concessions are run by Xanterra who do a really good job.

There is a free bus service along most of the South Rim of the park. The bus has a stop right at the RV park - we could go anywhere we wanted. We were there a week, and the tow car never moved. What is nice about the bus is you can get off at any stop along the rim, walk for a while, and hop back on at another stop.

Sounds like a plan to me, I am in awe every time I see a picture of it...
Do you think March would be better than say Feb or Jan or maybe April?
Thanks, tim

Heading to Alaska sometime around the first of June. We anticipate around 8-12 weeks for this trip, depending on our mood I guess.

Plan to leave early May from Vancouver BC across the Northern States to Maine, then up to Nova Scotia and back across Canada. Hope to be back late August.

If you are doing that trip, can I suggest that you also make the Cape Breton 'loop' but not in a very large MH as there as stretches of extremely winding up and downhill roads as well as very bumpy areas. It can be done in a day, but 2 or 3 are better. Then when finished in NS, go on to Prince Edward Island. We were in both this past September and need to go back

X2 on that drive. We rushed through it in one day as we had to catch the Newfoundland Ferry but it was well worth it.

What trip do you have planned in 2015

Leaving Phoenix at the end of May, first stop Colorado. Visit a couple of old favorite places, explore a few new ones, visit the grandkid since he finished Army training and is now stationed at Ft Collins.

Then a week or two in the Midwest. Okay, I admit I know nothing about the Midwest other then they grow lots of corn, and I flew over and drove through without stopping a bunch of times in the past. We hope to find some cool places and learn something about that part of the country.

Then up to Michigan for several weeks visiting the wife's relatives and her 50th High School reunion. This area is all new to me (we've been married two years) and old nostalgia time for her.

Leave the RV with the family and bed and breakfast the Niagara Falls area for a week. It's probably too soon to call it a second honeymoon, but what happens at Niagara Falls stays at Niagara Falls.

Pick up the RV in Michigan on the way back and discover more of that foreign and mysterious land called the Midwest using a different route.

Finish up with a week in New Mexico in time to be back for work when school starts in August.

If all goes well, we hope to move our permanent residence, subject to the VA's approving the prospective buyers loan, from 'Vegas to the Conroe TX area sometime between mid December and mid January. We then plan on taking off from there to visit the son and his wife in Charlottesville, VA and make it into DC if we can in time to see the cherry tree blossoms and one way or the other so that I can visit the Vietnam Memorial.
