What type of sewer hose is the best and how long do we need?

We plan on many using private camp grounds with occasional State camp grounds. What is a good sewer hose? Also, what length is best?

I've been using Rhino Flex for going on 10 years of full timing. I carry one 15' and one 10' section.

X2 on the Rhino Flex. I think I have a 20 and a 10 (would have to check) The long ones stay connected and the short one is used as required. I have a 40' DP with the valves just in front of the rear tires. A positive connection to the drain is required by some CGs but is nice to have anyway. The do-nut type have been known to cause problems.

I have a Rhino Flex, but upgraded to the Valterra Viper. The kit I bought has two 10' sections. It's a very rugged built kit.

I also have the RinoFlex hoses. They have snap in caps for both ends to seal them when not in use. What I like best is that they collapse to make them shorter or longer. When finished dumping, I push the hose together to make it as short as possible so it takes less room in the wet-bay.

Hey Parkerbill,

My Rhino Flex is about 6 years old & I'm starting to think about replacement before I get an unpleasant surprise. If you would, give me a consumer report on the Viper & how it's better than the Rhino. It looks like it might not collapse as much as the Rhino.

My Rhino Flex was still working okay, but I purchased a 10' extension for it and the joint would not stop leaking. I watched a video by Mark Polk reviewing the Valterra Viper and recommending it, and I read a ton of very positive reviews on it at Amazon. Is it tremendously better for the cost? It is to me. Very well built and seems much heavier duty (at least to me) than the Rhino Flex. And when I hook the two sections together there have been no leaks. Don't get me wrong—I am not saying the Rhino Flex is bad.

I may give the Viper a shot. I have a 8' storage tube that I don't want to give up and 2 10' lengths won't collapse enough. I may go with one 15'. It's been a long time since I've needed more than that.

I had the original Brown Rhino for about five years until it took at direct hit by a campground worker with a weed trimmer.
Figured I would upgrade to the Grey Rhino Extreem. Big mistake!
The new one does not fold up as tight and worst of all, it wants to unwind like a snake and fall off the support when I pull the black dump.
It was more money and is a POS. Wish I'd gone with the original that worked like a charm for half the cost.

Funny how many scream how good rhyno flex is. I am probably going on 10 years with the inexpensive ones with zero problems. Heck, paying 10 dollars every 4-5 years or a hundred bucks every 6-7 years. Your choice.

The Brown Rhino is only about $35 at Wallyworld. It would last an easy ten years unless confronted by a weed trimmer.

Rhino Flex here as well, for several years. I have a regular cheapie hose for the rare occasion longer is needed.
