Me too! Friend of mine had to replace his DP motor to the tune of $26K, so I'm gun shy about that, but now that I read it again, I think you're right. Whew!

A note about Plasma Screens installed in R.V.'s

I just got finished installing a small flat plasma T.V. in the back bedroom of our R.V.
The other TV was of the old type that was installed in the M.H. when we purchased it in 1997 it went out on our last outing.
If and when anyone perches a flat screen for their R.V. remember that it will have to be installed so that the picture is tilted down because you won't be able to see nothing but a black screen if you don't tilt it.
In the house is different because its at eye level but it's another thing in the R.V.
A good idea is when your in a store looking at them and they are at eye level been down low and take another look, check the ones that are up high check the angle that they are in, you might want to ask the sails person about it being at an angle in order to see the picture, be sure to tell him or her that it will be installed up high in you R.V. see what they will say.
Good luck.
Just a thought.

My speedometer always gives a variable reading that can go from 40 to 85 when I'm doing 60, now my gas gauge has developed the same personality... so I bought the Silverleaf VMSpc system, an Asus Eee netbook, and a Ram mount. No more guessing and I now know more info about my engine and trans than I could ever ask for.

Piece of cake. Solder and heat shrink new harness to old plugs...I took out the old Philips/Carin disk navigation player and Sony CD Changer while I was at it. Streaming from the iPhone!!
DW can play her tunes in the bedroom speakers from her phone too with the fader.

Jeff, nice job... what make and model? I am looking for a receiver with Sirius and Internet radio. I think I have to go with a double DIN size unit like this, haven't found one to just slide into my single DIN opening.

I have the same one as Jeff.

You don't have to go to a double din. Google the Kenwood website as they have many models with your requirements. Kenwood is one of the top deck producers. My last deck in my previous RV was a single din and came with a remote.

We had this problem. Bought a Samsung at Sears and had to take it back. The picture went negative to black if you weren't looking at the picture straight on. We tested all the TV's at Sears and the only one that didn't do this was the Sony Brava.

You have to look at the viewing angle or off axis viewing. We just out a bunch of Sharp Aquos in at work as the viewing angle is around 170 degrees. (You can basically see it looking down its side) Cheaply made ones skimp in that, though you can find some cheap units that are not bad.
