But a lock box, bolted into the LP compartment, locks your key from the thieves. It opens with a combination.

You make a good point Joe. The spare key systems that are being discussed here all LOCK UP themselves too, making it at least a little difficult for would-be thieves to gain access to our RV's. But if they know where to find the lock-box, they'll be able to break it open with enough determination.

Perhaps keeping the spare RV keys in the toad is a good idea? But then again... if we locked up the toad, we are still kinda screwed.

I guess one must balance the ease with which the rightful owner of the keys can get to them (i.e. we aren't locked out of our own emergency keys!) versus the ease with which crooks can guess where we hid the lock-box.

They still make those magnetic Hide-A-Key things. I've seen them at locksmith shops. Just stick one under the fender.

Before we got the cast metal one we screwed into a bay wall, I bought a magnetic one. Problem was, my fenders are fiberglass.

Flat panel LED lights to replace the annoying fluorescent fixtures.

Low Profile Surface Mount Overhead Panel Light

And some SUpco SPP6e hard start capacitors from Ebay - that's the only place I can find them.

After locking ourselves out once, we bought some spare keys and the magnetic key box at the flea market in Ft Meyers and tucked it away in the water heater compartment which is not locked. Just to the left inside there is a nice metal surface for the box to stick to.

Oh, and Hi, Lori!

Hide a compartment key in the propane bay. Then hide the front door and/or ignition key in another compartment.

I bought some Benchmark Maps for our RV, to replace the DeLorme Maps that are falling apart. The Benchmark seem to be better and have more information, but then again what I like maybe you will not like. YMMV

Brothers ADS-1500W document scanner. It is slick. Two sided scanning with a single pass through the scanner. Much better unit than I expected.
