295/75R/22.5 to limp in from front passenger steer tire blowout. No 295/80R/22.5 to be had in the Columbia SC to Spartanburg SC area. Bummer! Lots of wheel bay damage. Wire harness's just hanging, blown out steel walls, paint, fiberglass, etc. etc. stuck for a week in CG. FWIW Goodyear 295/80R/22.5, load range H 4 years 5 months old, meticulously kept. Not going back to OEM Goodyears, new shoes all the way around, vacation over and out! Safe T Steer saved our lives, get one!!

Hate to hear this stuff. Glad you're safe. How fast were you going at the time of the blow-out?

Our last purchase

We bought staging materials and hope this is the last thing we have to buy for the RV. We are moving up to a 2000 from our 1985. If we sell outright this weekend we are all set. Otherwise, we have to rely on trade in value which isn't much.

A set of Horst (now Valterra) Miracle Probes For RV Black Water Tanks. I really wanted to put a set of SeeLevel indicators on all 4 of the tanks but that would entail dropping the entire belly covering, pulling a gas line and replacing the galley gray tank drain run --- and that's just after a cursory look. These Miracle Probes have to be better then what's there plus that incentive of 200 bucks and many hours of work cheaper (I did a SeeLevel mod on an earlier, simpler 5er so know the basic work involved).

We bought a new mattress for the motorhome. We got a DynastyMattress 10GEL-QUEEN-RV 10-inch CoolBreeze Gel Memory Foam Mattress-Queen RV Size from Amazon to replace what I would guess was the original mattress in or 2004 Class C.
We're going into the second week of a six week trip to New England and The Maritime Provinces. No more aches and pains in the hips and shoulders when we wake up.
We think that we may replace our six year old Tempur-Pedic mattress at home with the same type.

A new sewer vent cap, the one that looks like a weather vane. Not a very exciting purchase.

My wife went out yesterday and bought a new mattress for the motor home, as well as a new mattress and box spring for the house. Hopefully I'll like them. I was going to go out looking with her but figured, why bother. She was going to buy what she wanted anyway.

Did you have them out in the sun? Were there visible cracks or check marks? Glad I have Michelins but they are 5 years old but always garaged and covered when camping. Never in sun. Even when driving, I use 707 marine grade protectorant. I have a thing about keeping tires out of sunlight, even for an hour or two, they are covered. Working so far but you never know. Scary what you went thru. Mine are also 16.5 on my bus.
