I'm about to 'pull the trigger' on a disc brake conversion and a full suspension upgrade. A couple whooaaaa up NOW stops on this last trip convinced us that the tried and less then true magnet brakes just don't do justice to a fairly heavy/long towed RV
|
The suspension upgrade material is bouncing its way down the highways - 4 new leaf springs, replacement wet bolt bushings and 9/16 dia bar stock U-bolts and possibly a new MORryde rubber insert. I tried to find out if the Dexter E-Z Flex could take the place of the existing MORryde but Dexter couldn't commit to a solid answer.
Those leaf springs - every brand including what Lippert/Dexter sells is now made in China with most with Universal Group distributing them. I considered locally made springs but the pricing each was well beyond what I considered acceptable so they are coming from Etrailer @ ~30 bucks each for 26", 6000# capacity.
The disc brake mod will be on order soon.

Pathway X2. Next purchase, a new satellite dish that actually lets us watch two different channels on two TV where I don't have to watch Everybody Loves Raymond reruns one an Eastern satellite so DW can watch TV on the second TV.

Ok the recall would not fix the step so CW called Thor Motor Homes and they approved a new set of steps since it broke before the recall could be completed. Finally got some great service from our local CW which has completely changed their service dept for the better.

Two wall mounted file holders (like you see at the doctor's office beside or on the door of the exam room). I mounted them on the wall beside the bed to hold my iPad and reading material. In a small coach every inch counts and organization is essential.

Kodiak disc brakes for the 5er. I have new springs and while I'm getting dirty, figured that I'll install at least the brackets and rotors/hubs while everything is apart. The actuator and lines can be installed in the spring unless we get a warm spell -----

Rear ABS speed sensor for $16.00, after driving from central NY to St Pete FL with the ABS lights on. Brother had the $400.00 code reader to read ABS codes.
