Check the lower hose clamps on your engine radiator.
I discovered mine were rusted through and if the hose had leaked or come off, the engine would have overheated at the most inconvenient time and place.
Only a couple of bucks apiece.

Getting ready for our first big trip next year (6000 miles). Picked up safety equipment - Airforce One, EEZTire TPSM, tire flat kit and air compressor.

Teffy,
I had the King Control cruise control in my 1994 Monaco Signature rebuilt by King Control. A very reasonable $240 (or there abouts). Took it off and sent it in, they rebuilt it and sent it back. I drove for nearly 5 years without cruise before getting it fixed. I would not like to be without it now.
I have also has two hoses burst while on the road. Both times found a mobile mechanic to take off the hoses and get new ones made, then put them back on and fill the fluid back up.

Brings back memories. Except when we moved from a class C to a class A It was pouring down the rain. Needless to say the carpet suffered.

Where did you find 6" square pipe? PVC, I hope. Can you post a picture?

Teffy and Paul,
I recently saw an interesting new product at Lowe's in a cardboard display at the end of a plumbing aisle. I wish I could remember the name. It is a repair product that seemed to be an air cured epoxy mesh. One of the uses they showed was pipe and hoses. I'll buy some next time next time I see it and stash it in my tool box for an emergency. It was about $6-12 and comes in different sizes. It's a one use product. Once the packaging is opened it starts setting up. I wonder if this could have worked for your hose breaks?

What was the last thing you bought for your RV ?
okmunky,
The first one was in one of the small pressure lines to the wax valve in the radiator for the cooling fans. That one has 500 psi. I doubt it would hold that much pressure.
The second one was the feed line thrown the reservoir, with just gravity fill. It may have held that one if I could get it clean enough to seal it.

Sorry, no picture, it's now buried under snow. Yes, it is PVC, and I bought it at the local Fleet Farm Store. I is meant to be a sleeve for a 6 x 6 Fence post/wood column. I bought two of them. I plan to install one under the motorhome, across of it and attached to the frame to be the sewer hose storage (the hose with the attached elbow for the dumping station fits into it). I want to install the other one in the top corner of the pass-through compartment to hold long and narrow items like my folding ladder, a brooms and similar items.
Those tubes were on sale for $5, reduced from $28, because they did not want to carry them through the winter.

Just change all your belts and hoses every 5 years, and you will never have a problem. A broken hose can easily lead to engine destruction as well. Especially that bottom hose. It was mentioned before to change clamps when they look bad. Simply change the clamps along with the hoses. Heater hoses are also overlooked and blow out. Change ALL belts and hoses every 5 years and you will never have an issue. You don't need to carry a bunch of band aids either if you do that.
