Just bought a new 5th wheel take possession 10/4 so we'll have to see what it needs though King size sheets will be number one, as we've always had a queen. I guess some kind of pads for the 6 point leveling feet will also be in order.

Is yours an Onan 4000?
If so, does it have the Onan vent in the compartment door?
One cause of overheating is the fresh air intake is covered by the compartment door causing the generator to pull hot air from under and inside the engine compartment which causes an overheat issue. I installed the Onan vent and haven't had a problem since.

Mine is a Onan 5500, I keep getting a overheating code when I am stationary, but running down the road I can run everything on it and no problems. I'm thinking about installing a radiator fan and see where that takes me.

My 5500 had one of those codes and it turned out to be too hot exhaust gas meaning it was running too lean. Had to enrich the carb needle for more Fuel and less air. Also the fuel feed area had become blocked by trash (base of bowl at needle inlet & at float bowl where the float cuts off fuel overflow) in the fuel over time so used a fuel carb cleaner in the Fuel too. PM me to discuss if you love me.

New 300AH LFP LifeBlue battery ........

I got tired of the flooded lead-acid batteries so upgraded to lithium via a 300 ampere-hour LifeBlue unit. With less than 1% losses during charging and use, my 400W of solar goes much further. And I can go several days in the shade or with cloudy skies without running the generator to re-charge (I usually use less than 100 ampere hours per day).

Especially like that I can monitor battery state of charge and voltage on my cell phone or tablet via Bluetooth.

We have a 5500 and can run fine stationary, but it dies on the road.

...Window treatments...
...The 2 smaller windows on the slide sides were purchased from NorthWest RV Supply at about one fourth the cost of where I had to order the rest of the other window coverings.

It was great to know that they remembered me when I said to tell my friend there that the old "MonacoMama" was on the phone. She remembered me and of course he did too!

Please check with NorthWest RV Supply for many different items if you are looking for all sorts of parts and pieces...you may be surprised!

winterizing

I bought a nipple that takes my air hose fitting to blow out the RV lines for winter. I also bought a fuel filter for my ONAN because it keeps shutting down. I hope that I don't have to buy a fuel pump.

Do you happen to have a link for the air fitting?

Lots of places carry them. I think I got mine at Menards, a big box hardware store. Here is a link to another source:

I bought a Camco 90 sewer fitting, 4 feet of 3" inch pipe and a bag on high strength concrete. I made a new cap for the septic tank at a rental property with the 3" inch pipe through it. Built riser using surplus 4X6s and added the 90 fitting. Now dumping tanks at home is plug and play. Next is a pair of bayonet fittings to put on a 3" hard suction line and I won't even have to raise the lid and mess with a slinky that is stinky.
