What works best to secure RV cabinets on the road
I know bungees work. But other than that, has anyone found a inexpensive DIY simple project for keeping the cabinets shut while on the road?
Thanks

Check out the "child safety" latches at the Home Depo type stores.

I had one cabinet that wouldn't stay closed, so I gave it a double wide magnetic catch - that solved the problem on mine.

My rig came with brass and ball bearing latches used on yachts. Turning a screw tightens or loosens the tension. I found that Amazon has some but they are just slightly smaller than my originals but still work OK.

I would need 11 of them so the magnets would not work as they are $5.00 each. However these might work to at least keep it from coming all the way open. And they are inexpensive.

Kinda depends on how your cabinets are set up. I have double doors, so I use these reusable gear ties between the handles while traveling. Got bright orange - easy to see if they are in place. See Gear Tie 12" I know other folks use a piece of clear plastic tubing long enough to run between the 2 handles to keep the doors from opening. These methods only work if you have opposing double doors. ST

We also have double doors and we use those elastic bands girls put on their pony tails. Very inexpensive and not noticeable.

We buy a package of zip ties at Harbor Freight and tie the double doors together and then just snip them off when we get to where we are going. We only need them when we are on rocky forest service roads, on paved roads our doors do fine.

I had a terrible time with a bathroom closet, just couldn't stay closed. I took a piece of trim, made notches where the knobs came out and put it on the knobs. The nice thing was that the trim fit the color of the door so you didn't see it.

I just tie them closed with a dish towel.
