Whats the deal with CW??????

So....twice now I have ordered over the internet and the parts I wanted had to be ordered/shipped direct from the mfr. Placed the order, got my confirmation email and patiently waited up to the expected date for delivery. Called CW to ask the status on my order and both times they said their PO never went to the mfr. as it should have to place the order. Both times they went ahead and re-initiated the order to get my parts to me. The second one they refunded my shipping costs to make up for the screw up.

Whats the deal with this? Does this happen frequently or am I just having a run of bad luck with them?

You're dealing with a Marcus Lemonis enterprise. Incoming revenue stream is the only focus. There is no support ($$$) for the outflow of goods or services unless it is absolutely necessary.

That's the way it happened to me. I quit using them, period.

Marcus Lemonis is to busy trying to be a TV Star or Profit to be a CEO, not doing a very good job of either!

BTW I haven't visited CW recently.
I can't stand their high prices...... besides I can screw things up on my own, (in a lot less time), for FREE.

The trend in internet retail is to have merchandise shipped directly from the manufacturer to the customer. All the big internet sellers (like Amazon) do it. No one wants to hold inventory. It costs them money and with internet sales squeezing margins it doesn't make sense.

When it works it's wonderful but if the system is weak there are problems. CW just redid their computer systems. I'm betting this was part of the problem.

Thanks everybody. Who else would you suggest ordering parts thru besides Amazon or WalMart? Of course I would order direct from the mfr if possible.

What were you ordering?

If it is stuff from the online store I am mildly surprised. If it was specific repair parts for an RV I am not. Few people stock parts anymore. It started when they figured out what inventory sitting on the shelf cost.

One of the 50A ems protectors. I ordered other stuff from different suppliers recently and almost forgot this one. When I called to check on it they told me ...OOOOPPPPSSSSSS! Hope I get it next week.

FWIW I had an issue with an online order. Because it was being shipped from a manufacturer rather than CW there is no provision for tracking. They tell you the order is processed but that's it.

I posted on another forum that has CW customer service reps monitoring it. Within minutes I had a customer rep asking me to contact them directly. I did so and the issue was resolved immediately.

They just did an upgrading of their computer systems so there may have been a few slip-ups.

People love to hate CW but we've had good luck both at their stores (Tucson, AZ) and online.

I have had good and bad experiences with CW, but because of their inconsistencies (and usually higher prices) they are a last resort for parts and service.
I have only dealt with CW Chattanooga.
