What's your go/no lowest temp for weekend trip

Hi all,

Whats the lowest day time and night time temp you will go on a weekend trip?

Have not used this coach down to freezing yet but did with our old Damon and it handled it fine. Current coach is better insulated and has dual pane windows (Damon did not).

We have been fine with night temps in the low 20s if daytime goes up over freezing. Haven't had to push it colder than that. We don't have dual pane windows. We do have furnace heat to wet bays and supplement with a small space heater in the wet bay.

I would say overnight lows around 20 is my cutoff point. If it is going to be sunny and warmer during the day, I am good.

Our limit is about the same as the others. We fill the tank and disconnect the hose when below freezing. Also, we just bought a portable Dimplex electric fireplace for supplemental heat and ambience

We have camped in our SunSeeker into the mid teens with no problem. Filled the FW tank and used the pump. Tank warmers and heated wet bay. With the heated wet bay, you have to use the propane heater for the bay to get heat. This passed Jan, CG required everyone to open gray valve and let water trickle over night. Worked well.

The overnight lows in the mid 20's is about it . We are more concerned with the daytime weather . If it is sunny and warms up to the mid 40's , that's good for us. If it hovers around freezing and snowing , we call it quits. A day or 2 of bad weather is OK , but more than that and we'll just stay home.

We will travel in any temperature. Have had ours in -15f night time temperatures and single digits during the day. We aren’t really camping in these temperatures, but traveling in the winter is common. We would be more cautious about road conditions in the winter compared to temperature.

We don't head out if the nighttime temps of our destination will be under freezing. We just keep planning our trips further and further south as the winter begins.

Thanks all,

We are based in Michigan and still work so restricted in going south for winter.

We mainly rv to go hiking and kayaking and stay places with water views. My wife will only go if its comfortale enough to sit outside until 8pm or so. That means having a roaring campfire on the go :-)

If you live in the Northeast and things prevent you from heading to warmer climes, then you camp in the cold on the way to warmer.

X2 for the Northwest. I just keep my coach winterized until I get to a warmer climate to de-winterize. The only difference is I use public/campground washrooms and have to wait a day to have a shower in my coach. Most campgrounds are open and operating within a day’s drive.

I Dewinterize the day we leave. Have not had a problem yet. Hook up the water and fill the tank, ready to rock! One place we hit on the way south, only has elec. on.
