Where is best to rent from?

We have decided to try this out with a rental first on a long weekend. We have a long weekend in October. Cruise America seems not too bad on price. I was wondering about feedback from others though. I have never rented an RV before so I would love to know if this is a bad idea, and if not, suggested places to use, suggest places to stay away from. Thanks!

Renting before buying is always a good idea.

Posting where you live would be helpful for rental suggestions.

I believe Cruise America only rents class C motorhomes. If you were looking to rent a class A, you might want to look into El Monte. Whatever you decide to do, keep in mind that rentals might not be in the best of shape. We had rented a class A that was pretty well worn, walls were dinged up, floor had some tears in it, etc. We still had a great time in it though. We had rented it to see if we still liked camping, and to see if an RV fit our lifestyle. We rented it last April, and wound up buying a class A at the end of May.
Not all who wander are lost.

We tried Cruise America, the unit was high mileage 116k. As it was my first time doing anything in a RV I did not check it close enough, when I got home my wife finally opened the toilet door (not to use but to see it) she was blown away by the smell. I called the dealer and they said they must have forgotten to put deodorizer in it. Following their instructions we ended up with a full bowl of crappy water that spilled out as we tried to find a place that could help. Their traveler assistance line was never any help. Not even a "I am sorry".... took it back, the dealer said the would refund all cost but of course that hasn't happened. When I was standing in feces laden water I was upset calling to their line and was told be professional. I am not sure what is expected..is sending out this unit this way, giving no help, and not refunding charges professional? I recommend finding another way to explore, we will.
