I noticed some cracks in the sealant around my vents and stuff, so I filled the cracks with some sealant that says it is safe for rubber...

I figured this would be temporary, and now I want to scrape off the old stuff and redo it with the actual Dicor stuff...

Has anybody found a good price from a reputable online place?

Thanks in advance for any reply.

PPL Motorhomes has it - see Dicor sealant

Another source is American RV - Dicor

Thanks!

These are both good places to deal with?

Skip the caulk and use Eternabond Tape around ur vents and you'll never have to caulk again.

I haven't done business with either of those places, so cannot vouch for them. There have been complaints about PPL Motorhomes for their handling of RV consignment sales, but that doesn't necessarily say anything about their parts business.

The Eternabond that JC2 recommends is an outstanding product and I use it myself on the front and rear cap seams. However, it is not well suited for caulking around curved things like vent pipes or roof ladder mounts.

Personally I think you should use whatever caulk is available to you locally that says it is compatible with EDPM rubber roofs. Dicor has a long history of trying to make people think that only their brands are OK and that others are somehow "unsafe". They do that by loudly proclaiming their own brand and categorizing everything else as "not recommended by Dicor". But "not recommended" does not mean bad - it merely means that Dicor is not making any promises about the other brand.

JC2, Yeah, that Eternabond is good stuff, but I need to go over some irregular shaped parts, and I think a caulk will work best for what I need.

RV Roamer, I wonder how much of that stuff is a scare tactic myself, but it seems the Dicor stuff isn't that much more money, and if I ever had a problem with my roof while it was under warranty...

Anyhow, thanks for the replies... I think I'll order some tape in addition to some caulk.

Here is where a member of RVNet did his entire roof using Eternabond. Very interesting article.

I used Eternabond on my roof seams and around all my vents, antennas, etc. It works great. However, it does take a lot of extra work and fitting around round objects, but it can be done very successfully. I did this on my previous coach and I'm just now getting ready to do this on our new coach. I'll be glade when I'm done, as this is lots of work.

I have used Plas-T-Cote a couple of times on my roof. Very easy to apply. You put it on with a paint brush. Just do it when the weather is warm. It flows better. According to the mfg. it is good for both fiberglass and rubber roofs.

I bought it a local RV supply store.
