A quick google search shows the average cost of municipal water in the U.S. is $1.50 per thousand gallons, now I am sure the average water bill has various fees, sewer, etc. added on that makes it considerably higher, it seems the cost does vary considerably depending on the location, but even at 10 times this you are looking at a typical 80 gallon RV tank fill consuming less than $1 worth of water.

You made a comment if the fog won't drink it you won't use it.

Reminder dogs lick there own but and eat cat pop. I would rethink that test.

The only water that goes in my fresh water tank comes from my stick-n-brick home. Never have found the need to re-fill on the road.

Yes I have. In the Florida Keys marinas.

It's imported from the mainland and they charge 5 to 10 cents a gallon.

I sold the sticks and bricks 14 years ago. I have found the need to re-fill on the road.

We usually fill up at campgrounds or using the hose at the storage facility where we keep her parked. We once filled up -- after asking -- using the spigot outside the service garage at a NJ Turnpike service plaza.

Whenever we make a stop for gas or whatever, the DW jumps out of the coach and does either push ups or jumps rope (she's a Cross-Fitter) and this often starts a conversation with the gas attendant. Then it's easy to ask a favor and folks tend to say yes!
