Hello Bill and . We are glad to have you join us here and look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I am sure you will enjoy our website and forums. Good luck, stay safe and keep us posted.
The home improvement stores will have solar screen you can buy in rolls or have it cut off a large roll. I used it to make a pattyOshade the length of the awning.

Beasley Manufacturing is the cheapest I have found - $1.50 to $2.50 a yard for 90% density depending on width (54" to 96" available). Click the heading for "sunscreens" or "window panel." If you're not near central Florida, you might want to call how much they charge to ship and what colors they have available (they always have black) and in what widths.

I've called them twice over two weeks and left messages with no reply. I don't know if they are still in business or just don't want my business. Anyway, with this poor service I will find some other business to buy from.

I called a local canvas and awning company, he had the material and the grommets.
