AGM batteries have their place, But I feel they are way overpriced for what we need, 4 GC-2 Golf car batteries (flooded wet cell) will power a 2KW inverter just fine (in fact that is the recommended power0 for less than half what AGM's will cost, and if properly cared for they will outlast the AGM's as well.. at least mine did.

I am finding myself agreeing with you on the flooded batteries. If I was planning on going to Alaska, over very rough roads I might op for the AGM because they would hold up to shock and vibration. I was initially attracted to the idea of not having to crawl inside and check the fluid levels, I'll just have to find a way around it it. I've been looking at inverters, and the Magnum has a 2800 watt. Someone on here had an idea to just install a thirty amp plug into the inverter, and plug your shore power into it. That seems like the easiest way to assure power to all outlets.

I've learned a lot on this site, especially on this three, and I am really appreciative of all the information. I read on a blog that the best thing to do to assure long battery life, is to make sure the batteries get fully charged during the charge cycle.

I would love to hear what worked, and what didn't work for you.
