My wife uses a wheeled walker, the kind with 4 wheels and hand brakes, to get around when she's not home or in he MH. Once she gets to her destination she doesn't use the walker because of its size and uses her cane for support. The problem is there is no place to hold her cane while she's using the walker. She places the cane across the walker frame but then the cane runs into everything because it sticks out so far from the sides of the walker. I looked on the net for cane holders and the only one they show doesn't appear to be very sturdy and has negative reviews from users. What do other folks use. Any suggestions?

What about a broom clip, like you would put on a closet door? It could be attached to one of the uprights on the walker. Just a thought..

Hi Belgian,
In addition to what skipwil posted, think about closet broom holders, etc. If you can go to a Lowe's, Ace Hardware, etc (or Camping World) they should have a selection of clamp like holders to hold items in the vertical position.

Might also be able to use hose/cable clamps and an appropriate diameter and length of PVC pipe to make a "holster" to attach to the walker frame and hold the cane...

How 'bout a folding cane. My DH used to use a cane and he found that quite handy. Here's a link to one source:

Yeah, I'd vote for a PVC holder that would double as a fishing rod holder. Could come in very handy along a creek bank or the shore of a lake.

I find all kinds of things can be kept in the ones I have attached to the legs on the poling platform on my flats boat.

Thank you for the ideas. It's off to the hardware store. I'll try each idea and see how they work out. CaptJoe, you fishermen crack me up...always thinking about fishing. It must be a disease. lol

What she needs is a Quiver.. yes, Quiver.. The tube that an archer uses to hold additional arrows (There is a kind of funny fiction story about this but I won't go there. I'ts by Mercenaries Lackey and is in the "Owl" series if anyone wishes to read it)

Now... To make a quiver.. Take a piece of PVC, perhaps 2 feet of 2" and a cap

Drill some quarter inch holes in the cap (in case of rain) and mount it cap down on the frame of the walker.. Cane goes in the pipe.

If she takes up Archery.. She can use it for arrows too, but you may need to drop a sponge down the tube first (Blocking the holes which are big enough to let an arrow drop out)
