If I was going to sell, I would start with the classified adds section on this web site.
Make sure you include that anyone who inquires must leave a name, phone number and e-mail address. That will weed out some of the scammers. Also, if you do get an inquiry, be sure to Google their e-mail address. When we sold our previous RV a few years back I found that if you Google a suspect e-mail address most (not all) of the time it will show up as a scammer.
Good luck with your sale. And by the way, we ended up selling our previous RV to Lazy Days in Seffner, gave us what we were asking.

I sold mine on RVTrader.com. It's a huge site, easy to navigate, reasonable prices, good customer support. I would look closely at their "run it till it sells" price!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

There are also consignment dealers. PPL in Houston is perhaps the best known, but some RV dealers with take rigs they think they can move on a consignment basis. Yes, you pay the consignment agent for the service, but they take care of all dealings with potential customers, and if it sells, you just wind up with the check.

Question - how did you and the buyer handle the money?

Can't accept a personal check of course, and I've heard horror stories about fake cashier checks/money orders ... even certified check fraud. The only thing I can think of is not let them have the vehicle for a week, LOL

Thanks in advance for any info ...

Camping World sells on consignment. That's where we bought our MH, on consignment from the owner.
My answer to your question about payment options is to set up a paypal account for sellers and receive payment via your paypal account. Sure it costs some, but quite safe and reliable. Visit their website and read the term/conditions.

A bank-to-bank wire transfer of funds would be a possibility.

You can try Facebook. I posted my travel trailer on a local swap group site page. It was sold in two days of the post. It was free and worked out great.

I've always gone down to a local bank with the buyer and had them get a cashiers check and make all transactions, notarize title etc. at the bank.

I agree with Rusty. Unless you know the buyer well, I would only accept a direct transfer of funds between his bank and yours. Too many scams out there to even consider anything else!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
