which way to go now

Hello all my RV life has just begun and I am chugging along. i bought an 84 minnie winnie about 3 weeks ago. My family needed a place to live and i dont know a lot about rvs and got taken a bit i think. the rv didnt have a fridge, microwave, working door handle, ignition, generator or deep cell batteries. the PO had been using the toilet not hooked to water so i ended up having to clean 10 gallons out the back end by hand and replacing the black water valve. He also didnt winterize so the water heater tank burst(which was fun to discover). I replaced that with a 2 1/2 gallon electric after many trips to the hardware store and giving myself a black eye. my question is the toilets water supply isnt working when you flush. i had read somewhere i think that you need the water pump for that to work.is that true because im on city water so i didnt think that mattered. i turn on the water pump and i dont hear anything and the holding tanks arent filling or filled. i thought i read somewhere else that deep cells are needed for the water pump to work. is this true because i am on city power and i thought that powered everything. thanks for reading and helping. I have to say even though ive spent way too much on it and its a project and like 85 sq ft i like having my own home that is mine.

City power and water should flush the toilet , just a guess but the frozen pipe problem may be the cause . Check flush mechanism

The city water connection pressurizes the whole Rv water system
If you fill the tank ( usually small door on exterior corner ) with hose pipe , then switch on water pump ( may be powered by battery's ) the water pump pulls from the tank and pressurizes the whole Rv

I'm really sorry that you've gotten into this mess and it does indeed sound like you were "taken", unless you got is at a really dirt cheap price that will allow you to spend the money for the necessary repairs.

I would strongly suggest that you try to find a local independent RV tech with a good reputation that can check it out and advise you on the proper course of action. I think you've bit off more than you can chew without some help.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Surly if one had been using bathroom without water OP could see that before purchase. Sounds like a work in progress. Good luck.
