Question whirlpool refrigerator door shelf retainer bar

Hi All,

The retainer bars on my refrigerator (2 door Whirlpool residential) tend to fall off.

I have tried to use silicone to stick them on, but that has not worked well. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

We purchased some spring loaded round curtain rods at Walmart and use them everywhere we need a restraint while traveling. Measure your opening(s) and match them up to the size on the label. They are inexpensive and work like a charm.

We use these for the inside shelves. Not likely to work well on door shelves.

Unfortunately by previously using silicone your options are few if none. I would recommend removing the silicone and also use a Silicone Remover product that I found at Lowe's to remove any residual. Ask any floor assistant where it is located.

Then use a two part clear epoxy like JB-Weld or Devcon to hold the retainer bars in place.

Thanks, I guess I was thinking of something less drastic. But so far my efforts have not worked. I guess I'll try that the next time we turn it off. 😳
