Why do some RV parks not allow Class C?

I have seen some posts on parks not allowing C motorhomes. Are there any technical reasons for that or are they just purely discriminating?

We've gone all over the country and I've never seen a park that wouldn't take a class C so I'll be watching this thread to see what's up.

No discrimination at all. Their property, they have a right to decide who and what they want to allow.
Lots of places left to go.

I have heard of class A "resorts" that only allow class A's... but never seen one. I'm afraid my lowly gasser would be in the riff-raff section, though it is a class A.

I do understand that rentals are mostly class C. But what's wrong with renting an RV

But isn't that quite unreasonable business wise, there are many class C owners willing to pay good money for a spot in the park, only to be declined because it had a legitimate truck rig in front?

Who doesn't want more revenue tbh

We haven't personally come across parks that don't allow Class C motorhomes, we have a Class A. All the places we've stayed at have everything from high end Class A's to pulled trailers. I do know that some only allow Class A Motorhomes that must be no older than ten years.

Yes, it is "discriminatory", but it's not illegal to do so. Some rich people just don't want to be around the "non rich". Just the way it is in the non camping world, as well (gated communities are similar). We've only come across that issue one time, and the rate to park there screamed loud and clear that it was "hoity toity", so we just called another one a few miles away. Found a lovely spot at half the price and they welcomed us, no problem. No, we don't have a ratty rig, but it's not what the elite would have, and it is older than ten years, however it looks awesome and is well taken care of.

That fact has never impeded our having a good experience, nor has it ever prevented us from finding a good place to park it. So don't let this change your plans if you have decided on a Class C.

I am not sure if having a class C means that you are not as "rich" hahaha :( no matter how much money I have I would still choose a super C over a class A because of safety and reliability purposes

Everyone camps differently, and has different types of rigs for their purposes. We chose a Class A due to the interior space. We've been full timers for a year now, and feel that we made the right decision for our purposes. I've seen some stunning, expensive Class C's that I'd love to have, but again, not enough space inside for our needs, as we sometimes store inventory for our vending business. We also travel with a full size van for the same reason.

You can read all the reason why many campers prefer to sequestering themselves in Class A only parks here - http://www.irv2.com/forums/f103/clas...-404728-5.html. I block all notifications from the thread way before it grew to 490+ entries.

They do it because they can and make "their" park they way they want it. In our travels we have seen:
Class A only
NO pets
NO kids (adult only)
NO rigs over 10 years old.
NO long term rentals
Discounts for state residents only and an extra fee ($5 in NY) for non residents.
Know there is always another site just down the road a piece that will fit you needs.
Enjoy the adventure.

we've been around to a lot of places and I never heard of no class c's in parks....huh...never heard of any reason why that would happen...huh... I mean I get that a park can set any rules and limits it wants but to eliminate all class c from their park? again, huh,

Instead of guessing why, locate one of those "seen" posts and contact a park that doesn't allow them. Ask them why. It is their right to conduct business as they see fit so if you ever run across a park that the rules don't fit your needs just keep driving. In your and my opinion it is a poor business decision but apparently they either don't agree or don't care.
