Why you like your RV over a hotel.

We attended a retreat in Myrtle Beach this weekend and stayed at a hotel. I really appreciate our camper, even if it is only a popup.

I would like for you guys to chime in as to why you prefer your RV to staying at a hotel.

You certainly don't save money by RVing, but...
I know who slept in my bed last night,
I know who used my toilet and shower,
I can have a snack or take a nap by pulling over and stopping for a while,
Don't have to tip a bell boy (better hotels I guess)
Meals can be as elaborate or simple as we like.
Hotels get upset if you build a campfire outside your room
No reservations? No worry, WalMart is close and available.

It's my home where ever we are. MY bed, shower, potty, w/d, my bugs, my dirt, my kitchen, my chair!!!!!!!!!! Hope I never have to travel any other way.

Ditto, I know who slept in my bed and used the bathroom. I have my own things with me, food, drink, clothes and do not have to pack a cooler or a suitcase.

An Rv is definetly a large investment and compared to staing in a motel,whell there is no comparison BUT my goodness it is so much more enjoyable to have your home with you and yes their is a great deal that can be said about the condition of even the nice places.

If you ask my wife she will tell you she likes the sleep comfort bed. We sleep much better in the moho than any place else. I am sure that is because we are familiar with everything around us.

We travel with 4-5 special needs kids. Extended travel would not be possible by any other mode. We can carry the medicines, medical equipment, oxygen, beds for everybody, special feeding support, wheelchairs (in a trailer), and anything else we may need. All that is in addition the the stuff mentioned by earlier posters. I've loved it since I first saw a Dodge MH in 1964 and since I bought my first ElDorado "C" in 1975.

Having 5 kids, hotel rooms are not big enough and 2 are too expensive.

My ds6 does not take to change well, so knowing where he will sleep and what he will eat makes life on the road easier for all of us.

We are in a popup, so don't have our own bathroom, but plan to get a hybrid in a year or so for that reason.

I like the campfire answer. Wonder why they won't let us do that?!

I like the view (most of the time) from our camper. Unzip all the canvas, and I have a 360 view of nature.

Smells much better than a hotel also.

Ever tried talking to your neighbors at 6am over camp fire embers, with an instant coffee in your favorite mug, your old bibs on, clean air, you cant do that in a hotel.

Mama you gotta be kidding, is there a comparison between the 2. No way! A bad night camping beats a motel rm. God knows whats crawling or smeared on the bed, the bath room . where we gonna eat 1st cup of coffee For the traveler, adventurer there's nothing like your own RV.

I can get up in the morning, have coffee and breakfast in my jammies. I can laze around on the couch all morning, in my jammies, reading and drinking coffee. I love my camper...

We like to take our time(We're retired fulltimers). Sometimes my wife likes to lazy around in her pj's so I just jump in the drivers seat and take off. When she decides to get ready I pull into a rest area and she takes a shower and gets ready. Isn't life grand.

I to am lazy and will often walk to the "dining" area in my drawers to get a fresh cup of Cofffeeeee
