Check out Grand Canyon Caverns while you there. Mile Marker 115 on Rt 66, If you like Rt 66 this place is perfect. The tour of the caverns is worth it. They have campgrounds too but might be too far to south Rim. Also, Keepers of the Wild is much better than Bearizona. They are a non-profit sanctuary. Mile Marker 87 on Rt 66. Take the 3pm feeding tour.

We've been through the Williams/Flagstaff area when we could only see the top 4" of the fence posts above the snow. In addition, the run from Williams to Kingman closes due to ice and snow at irregular times. Weather in that area is VERY unpredictable, so keep a close check on it.
