Window shopping

I've been computer shopping for a new to me dual wheel truck. Looking for 2015 or newer, I'm curious how do you connect a 5th wheel hitch to this truck?
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/la...557344998.html

I know it connects to those four wholes, do you have to buy a specific brand to fit?

Also I see a lot of adds that say 5th wheel goose neck ready, but the picture only shows a goose neck ball, not a 5th wheel?? And some don't have the 4 wholes like the Dodge above, Thanks

You have the factory 5th wheel package. It uses a specific hitch mounting available from several hitch manufacturers. I have the same setup. makes for easy removal and install (minus the weight).

So the hitch sets in the 4 holes and then some kind of pin goes through the hitch?

Check your bed length

Some hitches can have clearance issues with turning radius. I only know this from installation side. Backing and turning can be limited by pin location on trailer and size of bed on truck.

The factory 5th option hitches are a turn to lock style. Set the hitch in the bed in the holes and turn the levers. Now it is locked in place. Most will have pins to lock the levers in place as well.
Matt
5th wheel hitches MAY have clearance issues in short bed trucks. A slider will often compensate for that. I have the B&W Companion slider in my '17 CC/SB Ram.

Yes, there are new hitches that fit the factory bed mounts--generally referred to as the 'puck mounting system.' Just lift off the rubber plugs to reveal the holes, drop the new jack in the holes, turn the levers in to closed position, tighten the nuts and slip in the keepers. Ready to go...
Might want to go by a hitch shop to look at a new hitch to see how they work.
