Winnebagi Via TV source switch?

Well, after 24 hours, the guys in the winnie forum got nuttin for me, so let's open it up a bit.

There's a couple in the campground we're staying at with a new Via class A. Really cute little coach, 26', 2 slides, just big enough for 2 if they are friendly...lol.

Anyway... we cannot find the video source selector.

Coach has all jensen a/v. the only connections into the TV are an hdmi from the DVD player, and a coax that I assume comes from a selector switch somewhere to select satelite, cable, or antenna.

They've used the antenna, that works.

Is there a source selector switch?

A guess, push the off button on the ant. amp., for cable.

Jim, I don't think there is one. The Jensen cd/dvd player in the dash is for music/movies. You can look at the schematics on line from Winnie's web site under "resources". Just enter the year and model of the coach. The drawback for us is we have to use a stand alone dvd player for the bedroom tv even if we want to watch the same movie the front tv is showing through the Jensen unit. Again, the schematics should tell the story for you. I'm surprised that the folks at the factory couldn't help- when I called, they had a tech answer and he explained the issue to me (although it was a plumbing problem-not the tv switch box).

Well, the schematic is a help, this one http://www.winnebagoind.com/diagram/...ire_110138.pdf shows there is in fact a video source selector switch.

Unfortunately, it don't give a clue where the thing is located... :(

Thanks guys. I let them know as we left for dinner, no word yet if they found it.

On My VIA there was not a video selector switch in the usual sense.

On the right side overhead cabinets (over wind shield) there is a switch for the antenna amplifier.

The Satellite Receiver, Antenna, and DVD/VHS player are directly wired to the Front TV (Sat uses either HDMI or Component RGB + R/W Sound - DVD/VHS did not use HDMI .

The rear TV is also directly connected to the DVD/VHS. A second SAT Receiver is needed (installed in the closet) for the rear TV and connects via Component RGB, RW Sound.

To select any of the devices the TV must be set to the correct source and (if not Satellite) a Channel selection/scan must be set/run to get to the channels. These are menu items on the TV.

Phe, tanks for your input, but it confuses me?

The coach I'm helping with is a 2012 Via, 25Q floorplan.
The antenna is a "newfangled thang" that saises itself automatically, a King Controls "Jack" JACK Aftermarket Antenna it has the amp built in, and a switch on it's cieling mounted interior panel.

The TV in this model is on the midwall facing forward. All the jensen stuff is on this wall.

Nothing to do with the A/V system is in the front overhead cabinets, in fact they are nothing but cabinets, no power or anything up there at all.

There are only 2 connections into the TV, one coax, one HDMI.
There is also a left and right sound out.

MY VIA - also a 25Q floor plan - 2011 model year.
In my VIA the source selector was the TV - using the TV's remote control to select the source.

Assuming you (your friend) has all the equipment - i.e. Satellite antenna and receiver, Jensen DVD, over the air broadcast TV antenna (you said that's working) -all connected, tested and working - BTW which Sat Company/Receiver does he have? Dish, Direct?

Anyway, to get Sat programs on the front TV (and likely on the Rear TV) a source must be selected using the TV and it's remote control, and the Sat receiver and Sat antenna must be on and working (of course) and using the Sat Receiver remote a channel must be selected (not a local broadcast channel).

There should be 3 sources for the TV, Satellite, DVD (from the Jensen Equipment), and Local brodcast TV from the Jack Antenna.
